Becky Blair’s lively and eclectic style, combined with her vivid use of colour and dream-like reflections, has seen her highly-sought-after work sold through exhibitions and private commissions internationally.

Known as an artist who sees the beauty in things which may otherwise seem ordinary, Becky Blair draws inspiration from the everyday, as well as her travels through India, Australia and Europe.

Becky Blair studied Fine Art at Cheltenham and Gloucester College, graduating in 1994. She has been a professional artist ever since.  Becky Blair has exhibited in group and solo shows all over the world, from Sydney to New York to London and Edinburgh.  She has many private and commercial commissions, including for the restaurant chain Pizza Express and Toyota LA.

Becky Blair’s extensive travelling has strongly influenced her development as an artist. Central to her painting is her vibrant and sophisticated use of colour that makes her canvases sing with a freshness and newness of a spring garden after the gloom of winter or tropical colours after a freshening downpour.  Her joyful paintings have a dreamlike quality, the images evolving from a complex layering of glazes, textures, drawing and printing. Her compositions are formed from pools of overlapping colour, and the use of negative space, adding and taking away elements to create a surface that has its own history.
